Taiwanese stainless steel mill may hike prices for August shipment

Recently, market participants predicted that Taiwan's Yieh United Steel Corporation might hike its stainless steel prices by TWD 5,000 per tonne at least for August 2011 delivery, driven by the rising nickel prices.

It is known that the average nickel prices in July have obviously soared by USD 1,500 per tonne in comparison of that in June. As a result, Taiwanese stainless steel mills' production costs have pushed up by TWD 5,000 per tonne.

It is said that the current transaction prices of 304/2B slit edge stainless steel have been up by TWD 1 to TWD 2 per kilogram from a week earlier in Taiwanese market. Read More>>>
